Pengal Valvurimai Sangam recently concluded a free legal aid camp in Coimbatore, bringing essential legal guidance directly to women who might otherwise never have access to it. Over two days, more than 500 women visited our team to ask questions about their rights, get help with paperwork, and receive one-on-one counselling on issues ranging from domestic disputes to property rights.

I didn't know I had a legal right to this. For the first time, someone explained it to me in a way I could actually understand

Volunteers from our legal panel worked alongside social workers to ensure every woman who came through the doors left with either a resolved issue or a clear next step. Cases that required deeper follow-up were referred to our ongoing family counselling and mediation services. This camp is part of a growing effort by PVS to make legal literacy a routine, accessible part of community life — not something women have to fight to access.

We're already planning our next camp for a different neighbourhood in Coimbatore. If you'd like to volunteer, refer someone in need, or support future camps, reach out to us at pvswomen@gmail.com or +91 98434 73333.
